Family of missing Broadway dancer Zelig Williams holding faith he will return home safe

It’s been over a week since a Broadway dancer, known for his performances in Tony Award-winning shows like “Hamilton,” went missing, and his family is now pleading for any information that might lead to his safe return.

Zelig Williams, 28, had been staying with his mother in Columbia, South Carolina, since the summer, where he was hosting specialized dance workshops. Kathy Williams last saw her son on the morning of October 3, and everything seemed normal when he left, according to her cousin Mieoki Corbett Jacobs, who spoke with NBC News. Later that day, a friend in New York City received an SOS alert from Zelig’s phone, indicating he had been in a car crash.

On the night of October 5, police discovered his car parked at the Palmetto Trail lot near Wateree, South Carolina, but there were no signs of an accident, Corbett Jacobs said.

Zelig Williams’ family and community remain hopeful for his safe return, holding on to their faith. “It’s very difficult,” Corbett Jacobs shared. “It’s a struggle, but they are clinging to the belief that Zelig will come home.” His mother has urged anyone with information to contact the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, adding that her son requires medication and may be in a vulnerable state.

“Please keep sharing on social media … and don’t just like it,” Kathy Williams urged. “Share it far and wide, because it will reach more people.”

Both the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and Columbia Police Department have not yet responded to requests for comment.

Zelig Williams has performed in acclaimed productions, including “MJ: The Musical,” and even toured with Hugh Jackman on “The Man. The Music. The Show.” Over the weekend, Jackman posted on his Instagram, appealing for help.

“Please … if anyone has any information on the whereabouts of ZELIG WILLIAMS, contact your local authorities,” Jackman wrote, alongside a photo of the dancer. “ZELIG, we love you and are praying for your safe return.”
