Arkansas dad faces murder charge for ‘fatally shooting man found with his missing child’

A father from Arkansas was arrested on suspicion of shooting and killing a guy who was discovered in a car with his teenage daughter, who had gone missing. On October 8, Aaron Spencer, 36, reported his daughter, 14, missing, and deputies from the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office were sent to his residence. According to a press release from the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office, Spencer had located his daughter, who had been discovered in a car with 67-year-old Michael Fosler.

According to authorities, Spencer shot and murdered Fosler after the two men got into a heated argument. Spencer was taken into custody at the Lonoke County Detention Center after being charged with one preliminary count of first-degree murder. In an unsettling GiveSendGo campaign, his wife Heather called the arrest “outrageous” and disclosed that their 13-year-old daughter had been “targeted, groomed, and ultimately raped by the boyfriend of a family friend,” who was allegedly Fosler, several months prior.

She clarified that although Fosler was allegedly under a “no contact order” and had outstanding charges, he made contact with the teenager when he was out on bond. “We allow the legal system to carry out its duties. After being swiftly charged, the monster who had harmed our child was released on a $50,000 bond, she wrote. “He had multiple felonies related to what he did to our child, and he was awaiting court in December.”

After being awakened by their daughter’s dog, which they described as “unusual,” the couple filed a missing persons report. We checked on her because this is out of the ordinary. When we discovered our adolescent child was gone, we experienced the greatest fear that all parents have,” Heather stated. We began phoning friends, family, and 911 while we frantically searched our house and property. Without hesitation, my spouse climbed into his truck and set out in a blind quest for our child.

She claimed that her husband caught up to Fosler, who was supposedly carrying the young child in the car, by “God’s never failing grace.” After an automobile chase, there was an accident. The predator fled as soon as he saw my husband was following him. An accident occurred during the chase. Regarding the fatal gunshot, she stated, “Aaron managed to save our child alive, but he was attacked during the process and had to take the necessary precautions to protect himself and our young child.” “He is currently being charged with ludicrous murder one.”

She went on to say, “I have no doubt our child would have not come home if my husband hadn’t found her,” calling Spencer a “hero” and a veteran of the war. The campaign claims that Spencer is presently at home following the posting of a $150,000 bond. During a press conference, Sheriff John Staley stated that the decision to charge Spencer will rest with the Lonoke County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. He called the case a “tragic situation” and said his “thoughts and prayers are with all of those involved.”
