A look at the numbers as over 6.2 million have already voted in Florida so far
With Election Day fast approaching, more than 6.2 million Floridians have already cast their ballots, according to recent data from the state.
As of Thursday morning, over 3.74 million residents have taken part in early voting, while another 2.48 million have voted by mail, reports the Florida Division of Elections. The total of 6.225 million votes accounts for just under 45% of Florida’s 13.84 million registered voters.
Registered Republicans currently hold a significant lead in turnout, with 2,787,359 ballots cast, compared to 2,060,088 by Democrats. Additionally, 1,238,430 votes have been cast by voters with no party affiliation.
As Election Day nears, the high voter turnout reflects Floridians’ strong engagement in this year’s elections. Analysts note that the large numbers in early and mail-in voting could influence results significantly, as these ballots will be counted alongside Election Day votes, potentially shaping close races across the state. With key issues on the ballot and a spotlight on Florida’s role as a swing state, both parties are making final efforts to mobilize remaining voters. The turnout figures hint at the importance voters place on having their voices heard this election season.
