Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is set to play in his second straight game despite missing some practice time.
Jackson was unable to participate in Tuesday’s practice, which is the team’s only full session of the week, due to a knee injury. However, just as in the previous week, his absence from practice won’t prevent him from suiting up. The Ravens’ star QB and former NFL MVP is expected to be ready for Thursday night’s highly anticipated showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals.
“Lamar will be playing Thursday night,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said after Tuesday’s practice.
Coach John Harbaugh chose not to go into detail about why Lamar Jackson missed practice, but later, Jackson was listed on the team’s injury report with a knee issue. This comes after Jackson missed two practices the previous week due to both back and knee injuries. Despite these setbacks, Jackson returned for one practice and then delivered a flawless performance, achieving a perfect passer rating of 158.3 in the Ravens’ dominant 41-10 victory over the Denver Broncos.
Interestingly, when Jackson spoke to reporters on Monday, he was not listed on the injury report, signaling that he was in good shape at the time. When asked if practicing only once a week might become his new routine, Jackson responded, “No. My teammates are out there putting in work, so I have no issue working too. But if taking some time off helps me recover more quickly, I’d be fine with that.”
Jackson’s impact on the field is undeniable. Leading the NFL in QBR, he directs an offense that currently ranks first in total yards and second in scoring. As a result, he is among the top contenders to claim his third MVP award, with strong betting odds in his favor.
