Houston Police Search for Missing 12-Year-Old Believed to Be Trafficked
Houston, Texas – The search intensifies for a missing 12-year-old girl in Houston who family members believe may be a victim of trafficking. After a police chase on Tuesday morning involving three suspects, Houston Police Department (HPD) officials confirmed that the young girl remains missing.
The incident began around 8 p.m. Monday when family members, concerned for the girl’s safety, requested a welfare check at a Valero gas station on Martin Luther King Boulevard near Hobby Airport. The girl, previously reported as a runaway, had been seen with a man, raising fears that she might be at risk of trafficking.
When HPD officers arrived at the gas station, they attempted to approach the man and the girl. However, the suspect quickly fled, sparking a pursuit across the city. The chase began at the gas station on MLK Boulevard and continued for about five miles, ending at a residence on Longwood Garden Way. Officers briefly lost sight of the vehicle but soon spotted it through HPD’s FOX helicopter, which tracked the suspect’s black Chrysler 300 pulling into a driveway.
Three individuals were questioned following the chase, but the girl remains missing. The Houston Police Department continues to work with family members and community resources to locate the child and ensure her safety.
As this story develops, the community is urged to stay vigilant. If anyone has information related to the girl’s whereabouts or additional details about the suspect’s vehicle, they are encouraged to contact the Houston Police Department immediately.
