Chapman University Shocks Students with Winter Break Closure and Early Dismissal – Here’s What You Need to Know

Chapman University has officially announced its Winter Break schedule for the 2024 holiday season. All university offices will be closed from Monday, December 23, 2024, to Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The university will resume normal operations on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

In a gesture of goodwill, President Daniele C. Struppa has also approved an early dismissal for all faculty and staff at 12 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024. Employees are encouraged to coordinate with their supervisors for approval before leaving early, ensuring that all departmental responsibilities are managed appropriately.

Throughout the holiday closure, Chapman’s Public Safety dispatch will remain operational 24/7 and can be reached at (714) 997-6763. For those off campus or using a cell phone, dialing 911 will connect directly to the city’s emergency services as usual.

Chapman University wishes its community a joyous and safe holiday season while emphasizing its commitment to campus safety and well-being.
