Shocking Discovery in Noyo Harbor: Human Remains Could Belong to Missing Teen

23

Fort Bragg, Mendocino County—Human remains discovered this morning in Noyo Harbor have sparked renewed attention to the case of Roy Mora, a 15-year-old boy who vanished over two weeks ago after attending the city’s annual Christmas parade. Authorities have not yet confirmed the identity of the remains, but initial findings suggest they may belong to Mora.

Captain Quincy Cromer of the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office stated that Fort Bragg Police reported the discovery at 8:28 a.m. on December 23, 2024. The body was located on the south side of the jetty in Noyo Harbor. Sheriff’s personnel arrived promptly and have taken over the coroner’s investigation.

A press release from the Fort Bragg Police Department revealed that jewelry found on the remains matches what Roy Mora was wearing on the night of his disappearance. His mother reportedly identified the items, though definitive confirmation will depend on DNA analysis, a process that could take several weeks.

“The investigation into Roy’s disappearance remains active,” officials said, adding that no evidence of foul play has been found at this time.

Mora was last seen on December 7, 2024, after attending the city’s festive Christmas parade. He failed to return home that evening, prompting a missing person’s report the next day. His family reported that Mora had not contacted friends or relatives, which was unusual for the teenager.

The discovery of the remains marks a tragic turn in the search for Mora, whose case has garnered widespread concern and support from the local community. Investigators have pledged to continue pursuing leads while awaiting conclusive DNA results.

Anyone with information related to Mora’s disappearance is encouraged to contact the Fort Bragg Police Department or the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office.
