Warning: Michigan Weather Update, Lake Effect Snow Will Impact Marquette

According to the National Weather Service, the most snowfall of the week is forecast today, with highs in the teens and low 20s. Winds gusting to 25 mph will create blowing snow, decreasing visibility. Additional snowfall is expected tonight, with overnight lows ranging from 5 to 10 degrees, with wind chills plunging below zero inland. Light snow is predicted to taper off Wednesday morning, but slippery roads may still pose a risk. Motorists should expect for more travel time, especially on Route 41 and other local roads.ย

Those heading outdoors should wear in layers to avoid frostbite and hypothermia dangers. Looking forward, temperatures are expected to climb somewhat by Thursday, with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid-20s. Friday brings a 30% chance of snow showers, with another possible system coming Saturday. To ensure a safe week, stay up to date on weather alerts and traffic conditions.
