Jurors found 51-year-old Franklyn Delanoy Williams guilty on Friday of two charges of second-degree murder in connection with the May 7, 2019 murders of his girlfriend, Sophia Simpson, 35, and her cousin, Gabrella Griffith, 27. Williams took the stand during the trial and admitted to killing the two women, claiming he did so out of self-defense. “She grabbed the knife and I was sitting on the bed,” Williams stated on his Thursday stand. “She stabbed me when she arrived.
