Salt Lake City Weather Update: Chill and Freeze Snow Moves In This Weekend

6

Utah’s mild and sunny weather this week will change when a cold front rolls in over the weekend. Highs for Wednesday and Thursday will be close to average, but snowfall and cooler air will likely disturb the warm streak.

Salt Lake City Weather

According to the National Weather Service, Salt Lake City will see highs around 40 degrees through Friday, with bright skies continuing into midweek. St. George has the hottest highs, hitting 54 degrees for Friday, while Logan is colder, with highs at 33. The change begins on Saturday when temperatures drop drastically across the state. Saturday’s highs in Salt Lake City will drop to 31 degrees, with snow showers expected.ย ย

Northern cities like Logan and Price should experience similar temperature dips of 25 and 30 degrees, respectively. Cedar City and St. George will receive a gentler decrease, although snowfall may accumulate by Sunday. Meteorologists warn that the cold front may cause slippery roads and impaired visibility, particularly in mountain passes. Residents should monitor local developments and be prepared for traffic difficulties during the weekend. While the sky stays cloudy and bright midweek, the weekend’s snow brings much-needed moisture to Utah’s water reservoirs. Officials warn drivers to be careful and prepared for unforeseen weather changes.
