Miami Detectives Release Surveillance Videos of Strong Arm Robbery in Bank Parking Lot; 82 Year-Old Victim Dragged by Fleeing Vehicle

MAIMI, FL – The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Robbery Bureau is investigating a strong arm robbery in a Chase bank parking lot on September 7, 2019 at approximately 12:19 p.m.

According to investigators, an 82 year-old victim was entering his vehicle in a bank parking lot in Tamiami Marketplace, 14290 SW 8th St, Miami, FL, when an unknown man who appears in surveillance video to be white and in the area of 20-25 years old, ran up to him and aggressively snatched his bag which contained an undetermined amount of cash and credit cards. The subject then ran to an awaiting vehicle, a black SUV/Crossover. 

While the subjects were fleeing from the scene, the victim attempted to retrieve his bag from inside the subjects moving vehicle and was dragged, causing him to fall onto the pavement.  A second vehicle, a white pick-up truck believed to be an accomplice, pulled out of a parking spot and quickly followed the fleeing subjects. The victim sustained a laceration to the back of his head and to his right hand, and was transported to an area hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. 

Later that day, what appears in surveillance video to be three black male subjects aged 20 – 25 years old, attempted to make a purchase at a retail store using the victim’s stolen credit cards but were unsuccessful and fled.
