The University of Connecticut women’s basketball team defeated Jackson State 86-64 in the opening round of the NCAA tournament, putting on a joyous display of skill and tenacity.
With dominant performances from Paige Bueckers and rookie Ashlynn Shade, the Huskies defeated the team in a convincing fashion to celebrate Coach Geno Auriemma’s 70th birthday.
