Everything You Need To Know About David R Babcock’s Obituary
David R. Babcock died on March 20, 2024, a Wednesday, at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona. In age, he was 87. David divided his time between Webster, NY, and Mesa, AZ. He left his position as director of Spencerport, New York’s BOCES 2 Elementary Science Program.
David leaves behind his caring wife, Shirley [McCoy] Babcock; children, Tim (Nancy) McCoy, Kelly (Scott) Collichio, Tim McCoy, and Greg McCoy; grandchildren, Shawna (Rob) Day-Halter, Christopher (Donna) Babcock, and Katherine Babcock Machado; great-grandson, Brayden Day-Halter; along with 6 grandchildren. His daughter Cheryl Babcock Hinz predeceased him.
As the director of ESP, David designed and oversaw this initiative that sent scientific kits in vivid yellow boxes to schools and trained educators throughout New York State on how to use the kits.
David was a member of the US Army from 1959 to 1965. He and Shirley spent many years in Arizona and New York teaching and enjoying Country Western dancing. In addition to enjoying games like pool, darts, shuffleboard, and card games, he enjoyed fishing and taking pictures.
The Webster United Church of Christ, located at 570 Klem Road in Webster, will have a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 15, at 11:00 AM.
