FLINT, Michigan: The Flint Police Department said on Wednesday that a groomsman was murdered after being hit by an SUV, barely hours after the groom and bride were married. The pair from Michigan were taken into custody. On August 30, Terry Lewis Taylor Jr., 29, the groomsman, was struck and killed by an SUV that was allegedly driven by James Shirah, 22. Shirah and 21-year-old Savanah Collier had tied the knot earlier that day. According to the announcement, Shirah is being jailed without bond after being charged with second-degree murder. Collier was accused of being a felony’s accessory after the fact.

SUV Struck Him At A Fast Rate

According to the police, Taylor suffered serious injuries after the SUV struck him at a fast rate of speed around 8 p.m. He was transferred to a hospital once the authorities showed up, where he was declared deceased. Police reported that following the wedding, Taylor got into a fight with someone. It is alleged that Shirah struck him by the SUV on purpose.

Taylor’s fiancée, Nikki Robinson, called him a “amazing person” at a fundraiser to help pay for his burial. She added that in addition to being pregnant, Taylor leaves back three children. Robinson added, “This was totally unexpected & so many lives are affected by this loss.” HuffPost contacted the lawyers named as Shirah and Collier’s legal representatives, but we didn’t hear back right away. On September 12, Shirah and Collier are both expected in court for a likely cause conference.
