Celebrating Sean “Diddy” Combs’ latest arrest was a lady who has long alleged he shot her in the face during their infamous 1999 club outing with Jennifer Lopez.

In a recent interview, Natania Reuben revealed that her daughter Nirvana had informed her on Monday that the 54-year-old founder of Bad Boy Records had been taken into custody by federal investigators and was facing three charges: forced sex trafficking, conspiracy to commit racketeering, and transportation for the purpose of engaging in prostitution. “She says, ‘Mommy, guess who’s in custody?,'” she recounted, speaking on Wednesday to the Daily Beast. “I asked her if it was someone we know locally in the community. She responds, “No, he’s bigger.”

Reuben claimed to have “cried out to God, ‘Thank you, merciful father!'” as soon as she discovered it was Combs. When the “Act Bad” rapper and his then-girlfriend, Lopez, showed up for a party in December 1999, Reuben and his pal were in a Manhattan nightclub. Alongside the couple were rapper Jamal “Shyne” Barrow, a Bad Boy Records signee, and Anthony “Wolf” Jones, Combs’ bodyguard. Gunshots were heard after Combs and an accused drug dealer got into a verbal altercation during the celebration.

When Reuben said she witnessed Combs allegedly shoot her in the face, she was in the line of fire. Telling the Daily Beast, “I watched him.” “My own eyes saw him.” Reuben claimed she felt like she was struck by “Paul Bunyan’s flaming-hot sledgehammer” after taking a 9mm hollow-point bullet to the middle of her eyes. “I cried out to God, pleading with him to spare me. She remarked, referring to her two small sons at the time, “I’m not finished raising my kids, I have work to do.”

Combs, Barrow, Jones, and the now-55 “Selena” actress left the scene following the shooting, but after a brief pursuit, the police stopped them. Three males were charged with possessing guns after police discovered a loaded 9mm semiautomatic gun that had been stolen. Reuben testified during the hip-hop mogul, “Bad Boyz” rapper, and Jones’ trial that Combs was the one who had shot her in the face.

In order to establish a ballistics match between her face fragments and the pistol discovered with Combs the night of the shooting, surgeons were unable to safely extract all of the shards from her face. Following the trial, the music executive resolved civil lawsuits with Reuben and the other nightclub shooting victims, after being found not guilty. (It is reported that Reuben received $1.8 million.)

Barrow, 45, was convicted guilty even though Reuben consistently claimed that Combs was the one who shot her. Following his release in 2009, Barrow was deported back to Belize, the country of his birth, where he currently leads the Belize United Democratic Party and the opposition in the House of Representatives. Lopez, on the other hand, remained by Combs’ side during his trial before he was accused of cheating on her with Kim Porter in 2001, which marked the end of their relationship.

Reuben expressed her elation at the news that the founder of Sean John clothes has been arrested and is being held without bond at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. “One of the best days ever,” she remarked to the site, adding that if Combs had been found guilty of the 1999 club shooting, he might not have had as many victims.
