Following A Fire At The Arlington Assisted Living Complex, Three People Were Hospitalized

Arlington: Three residents of an Arlington senior living complex were hospitalized for smoke inhalation following a fire. During the incident on Sunday morning, the Arlington Plaza neighborhood near 6800 West Poly Webb Road had to be evacuated. Boyles heard the disturbance when he was in his residence at the independent senior living complex. A runner had arrived from the street bearing an urgent message for the inhabitants.

Fire At Arlington

Following a fire on Sunday morning, a few tenants of an independent living facility in Arlington had to leave their apartments. Following reports of a patio fire, Arlington firefighters arrived at the Arlington Plaza – Sky Active Living condominiums on West Poly Webb Road next to Shorewood Drive and Lake Arlington. According to Lt. Evan Adams, an Arlington Fire Department public relations officer, smoke was entering the building but the fire was just confined to the patio and wasn’t burning inside the apartment.

Evacuation Of Residents

The department responded to a second warning with greater vigor in order to assist with resident evacuations. Adams stated that while three people were admitted to hospitals due to smoke inhalation, no one was hurt in the actual incident. There were no injuries among the firefighters. As conditions permitted, the evacuated occupants were allowed to return to their flats after the department installed fans to remove smoke from the building.
