On Friday, Joe Rogan hosted former President Donald Trump on The Joe Rogan Experience, marking the first appearance of a former president on the popular podcast. The interview, recorded in Austin, Texas, ran close to three hours and was released on Rogan’s social media that evening.
During the conversation, as reported by the Associated Press, Rogan asked Trump if he is “fully committed” to including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in his administration. In August, Kennedy ended his independent campaign and endorsed Trump.
“Oh, I completely am,” Trump responded, according to the AP. “But the only thing I want to be a little careful about with him is the environmental. Because he doesn’t like oil, I love oil and gas.”
According to the Associated Press, Trump stated that he would advise Kennedy to “focus on health and do whatever you want” if he joins the administration. This interview is part of a shift in Trump’s media strategy, as he has reduced appearances on major television networks like CBS News, opting instead for interviews with popular podcasters and YouTube personalities, including Logan Paul.
The Joe Rogan Experience, Spotify’s top podcast, boasts over 14 million listeners and features a wide range of guests, from scientists like Neil deGrasse Tyson to artists like Post Malone. Although 80% of Rogan’s audience is male, it includes a balanced mix of Democrats, Republicans, and independents, offering a unique platform for candidates to reach diverse voters as they campaign in the final days leading up to Election Day on November 5, according to Edison Research.

“With such a diverse and politically balanced audience, Rogan’s show offers candidates an invaluable opportunity to reach key voter groups, especially independents and younger voters,” Edison said in a blog post earlier this month.
