BELLEVUE, Ky. — Multiple agencies are actively searching areas around Bellevue, Kentucky, including the Ohio River, after Mark Bertram was reported missing early Sunday morning. The Bellevue Police Department received the missing person report at approximately 2 a.m. on Sunday and conducted a day-long search before calling for additional support at 4 p.m.

In a collaborative effort, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office provided a tracking canine, which followed Bertram’s scent from his home to the banks of the Ohio River. This development prompted authorities to bring in Boone County Water Rescue to explore the nearby waters for any signs of Bertram.

Bellevue Police Chief Jon McClain highlighted the uncertainty surrounding Bertram’s disappearance, stating, “There’s a lot of things we don’t know; we’re not 100% certain why he would have left his house or why he left his belongings behind.”

The search resumed at 3 a.m. on Monday, with even more agencies and resources mobilized. Four additional search canines from Pendleton and Grant counties joined the operation, each following a scent trail from Bertram’s residence to the Ohio River’s edge, all within close proximity to the location initially tracked on Sunday.

As the search for Bertram continues, authorities and community members remain hopeful for new leads in his whereabouts.
