Police Seek Driver in Deadly Hit-and-Run That Killed Father of Three in Redland

Miami-Dade Police are on the lookout for the driver involved in a tragic hit-and-run that claimed the life of a 46-year-old father of three in Redland, Florida. The crash, which has left a family and community in mourning, took place early Monday morning and involved a sequence of collisions across two locations.

According to police reports, the vehicle first crashed into a building near 232nd Street and 194th Avenue before continuing on to strike a man on a scooter at 208th Street and 194th Avenue. The driver fled the scene immediately after hitting the scooter, leaving the victim, identified as Alexis Muñoz, fatally injured.

Family members have since spoken out about Muñoz, who was a father of three and originally from Cuba. His cousin, Yaicel Santana, shared that Muñoz worked with his wife for Costa Farms, a major nursery and landscaping company in the area. On the morning of the accident, Muñoz was reportedly on his scooter, escorting his wife to work when the fatal collision occurred.

Authorities have not yet identified the driver or vehicle involved in the hit-and-run and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Miami-Dade Police continue their investigation, aiming to bring justice for Muñoz and his grieving family.
