Crash Closes Route 356 in Allegheny Township, Three Injured

Allegheny Township, PA – A section of Route 356 near Piper Road was closed for about an hour on Friday afternoon following a crash that left three people injured.

According to a Westmoreland County 911 supervisor, the accident, reported shortly before noon, involved two vehicles. One person was trapped in their car, while three individuals—two from one vehicle and one from the other—were transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Details about the severity of their injuries remain unknown.

Emergency responders requested a medical helicopter for transport, but adverse weather conditions prevented its arrival. Police on the scene urged crews to expedite their response.

The roadway reopened around 1 p.m. after being closed for approximately an hour. Attempts to reach township police for further details on the incident were unsuccessful as of Friday.
