Two adolescent males went lost in the ocean on Friday at Queens’ Jacob Riis Park Beach, and authorities were looking for them. At 6:03 p.m., the FDNY got a call reporting individuals in trouble. According to authorities, a dive crew was dispatched to look for the missing individuals.
Two Teenage Swimmers Disappear in the Water:
On Friday night, two adolescent boys swimming in Queens’ Jacob Riis Park went missing while at the beach with their parents, according to the NYPD.
The kids disappeared shortly after lifeguards ended their shift, and the remaining two hours of daylight were spent looking for them by FDNY and NYPD divers, according to the authorities.
The NYPD reports that the 16- and 17-year-old boys went swimming in the water in Jacob Riis Park’s Bay 2 while their parents remained on land.
However, they never returned from their swim, and at 6:35 p.m., authorities claimed, they received 911 calls reporting them missing.
The boys’ relationship is unknown. However, rumors have it that their last names are different.
The US Coast Guard and the NYPD’s Special Operations Aviation Unit searched for the two.
A few hours later, with dusk impeding their efforts, the FDNY and NYPD search crews called it quits. According to officials, they will start looking again in the morning.

Police took a man in handcuffs from the beach, as shown in pictures. Why he was arrested is unknown.
The federal beach is open for swimming every day from early morning to 6 p.m. when lifeguards are on duty.
