Body found during search for missing hiker in San Diego: Police

411

The Grand County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team is currently on a mission to find a couple who have been missing since last Friday.

Known as Ray and Maranda Ankofski on social media, the couple was last in touch at 12:20 PM on June 21, just before a powerful storm hit the area.

Reports from the Grand County Sheriff’s Office and social media indicate that the couple’s truck was discovered at the Steel Bender trailhead, while their off-highway vehicle was found in a ravine. Following a report of the abandoned truck linked to a missing party, deputies swiftly initiated a search and rescue operation involving multiple agencies. (www.ewea.org)

The search efforts involve ground search teams, helicopters, dogs, and specialized equipment, as detailed by the sheriff’s office.
